Smart charging automatically schedules charging during low-cost, off peak times, meaning Pod Power by EDF customers can smart charge for longer.
Yes, the rates that you will get with Pod Power by EDF apply for electricity used for your car and home. Gas rates are separate and you'll initially be on a rate aligned to the price cap when you first sign up. Once you're set up, you'll be able to pick a gas rate that suits you.
Pod Power by EDF is an exclusive EV tariff available to Pod customers. It's designed to work alongside your Pod Point charger and Pod Rewards, so you can smart charge at home on a low off-peak rate and save on your charging costs.

Pod Rewards
23The Pod Home app includes a range of features designed to make home EV charging easy. You can monitor your smart charging with activity data and insights, track cash rewards earned in the Wallet, manage multiple vehicles, manage solar settings, securely lock your charger and much more.
The Pod Home app lets you smart charge your EV and earn cash rewards. Smart charging makes charging easier and more convenient—you’ll never need to manage a schedule again. Simply set the time you need your car ready, and we’ll handle the rest, charging your vehicle when energy is cheapest for you.
No, you'll need to download the Pod Home app to sign up to Pod Rewards and start earning.
Once signed up, you'll use the Pod Home app to manage your Pod Point charger.
Yes, existing customers can sign up to Pod Rewards via the Pod Home app. Download the app and log in using your existing login details. Pod Rewards is subject to eligibility, see T&Cs for more details.
You don’t need to delete the current Pod Point app when switching to the Pod Home app, but you’ll now manage all your home charging with the Pod Home app.
If you use our public chargers, you’ll still need the Pod Point app for that.
Nothing - there is no cost to join Pod Rewards.
It’s our exclusive rewards programme for Pod customers, available to sign up to at no extra cost. Pod Rewards is one of the ways we support and thank our customers, and a key part of how we’re making EV ownership more rewarding and affordable.
As the use of renewable energy in our energy system increases, we can help balance demands on the grid by adjusting energy usage to match the peaks and troughs of wind and solar generation.
All you have to do is plug in your car and we’ll do the rest - ensuring your car is always charged when your energy prices are cheapest.
Whenever you smart charge, you'll be earning rewards that can be withdrawn as cash.
This depends on which charging option you're using.
Smart charging — available to all customers, smart charging handles everything for you. Set your ready-by time, plug in, and we'll build a schedule around when energy is cheapest so your vehicle is ready when you need it.
Basic charging — available to customers who purchased their charger upfront, basic charging puts you in control. You can use Schedule to charge at set times, or Always on to charge whenever you plug in. Switch between the two at any time in the app.
Not sure which you're on? Open the Pod Home app and check your dashboard.
If you have connected to your car
You will see in the Pod Home app that this information is greyed out. You will need to update your target battery percentage (%) in your car manufacturers app. Once updated in your car manufacturers app, it will update the Pod Home app too.
If you haven’t connected to your car
You can update the amount of energy you would like to add to your car each time you plug in (e.g. +20%), directly in the Pod Home app using the Top Up Battery module on the dashboard.
You can override any smart charging schedule using our 'Boost' feature, which will charge your car straight away.
Any charging sessions completed using the 'Boost' feature aren't smart charged and therefore won’t earn rewards or be eligible for cashing out.
Yes! Once you have connected your first vehicle, simply go to Manage > My EVs to add another vehicle. There is no limit to the number of vehicles you can add.
Some car manufacturers, such as Mini and older models of the Nissan Leaf, don’t provide an option to change the target battery percentage (%). In these cases, we will always aim to charge your car to 100%. If you’re on an off-peak tariff, we will charge your car as much as possible during those hours.
No, the Pod Home app is free to download.
Pod Drive works with all energy suppliers.
To earn Pod Rewards, or subscribe to Pod Drive, you'll need to be on a standard or time-of-use tariff, like Pod Power by EDF.
On a smart EV tariff? That's where your energy supplier controls your charging. You can still use your Pod Point charger, but Pod Rewards and the Pod Drive subscription won't be available.
Smart tariffs include: Intelligent Octopus Go, Octopus Intelligent Drive Pack, Octopus Agile, OVO Charge Anytime, Scottish Power EV Optimise, E.ON Next Drive Smart, and other similar tariffs.
To be eligible for Pod Rewards you need to have a stable Wi-Fi connection. This is so we can ensure your car is always charged at the cheapest times, and to send any remote firmware updates to keep your charger up to date.
There are a few simple things you can try, to troubleshoot any charging issues you’re experiencing:
- Make sure your charge target is set in your car manufacturers app. This will be shown in the form of a percentage (%).
- Check that your charger is connected to Wi-Fi. You can view your charger’s connection status by going to the Dashboard screen in the Pod Home app. If your charger is disconnected, you will see an error message. Please select “Fix the problem” and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Check that your charger is correctly plugged in to your car.
- Try a test charge using our Boost option. Once your car is plugged in, you will see the Boost button highlighted on your Dashboard . If your car starts to charge using this option, please get in touch.
To connect your vehicle to the Pod Home app, you will need to enter the log in credentials that you use for your vehicle manufacturers app when prompted.
If you are struggling to connect your vehicle, you can try the below steps:
- Check that the login details used are correct, by signing into your vehicle manufacturers app
- Using the same login details, retry connecting your vehicle in the Pod Home app.
We regularly update our list of makes and models from the EV database. However some types of vehicles aren’t available just yet. If your make/model is not available you can add a custom vehicle which will include your vehicle battery size. Once added, we’ll then still be able to optimise charging for your car.
We require there to be at least 1 vehicle added. If you want to delete a vehicle and it is the only one, you will need to add a new vehicle first.
When there are multiple cars we do our best to determine which is connected using the data from any that are linked. If we’re unable to determine which car is connected we default to creating a schedule for the vehicle that needs the most energy, this way if we’ve got it wrong you’ll still get charged.
If you're on an off-peak tariff, we'll only charge your vehicle at off-peak times when your energy is cheapest. If you haven't reached your target battery percentage by the time your cheap rate ends, your vehicle will stop charging so we don't charge you in your more expensive energy rate period. When you first plug in, we'll work out if we will meet your target battery percentage in your cheap rate period. If we can't meet your target, you will get a notification.
With charging priority in the Pod Home app, you can choose either to prioritise lowest cost charging or prioritise a complete charge. This can be changed at any time in your settings or for individual charging sessions.
Yes but any cash earned still goes to you.
As long as the guest's vehicle is connected through your Pod Home app and smart charged, the rewards are added to your Wallet.
Guest users can't access or withdraw the cash — only you can.
Pod Rewards is our way of saying thank you for smart charging. Every time you smart charge at home, you earn cash. Cash builds up in your Wallet in the Pod Home app, and once your balance hits £10 or more you can withdraw straight to your bank account.
You can earn up to £100 every year, just by doing what you'd do anyway.
Every time you smart charge using the Pod Home app, you earn points — 2 points for every kWh charged, with each point worth 1p. Points are added to your Rewards Wallet automatically after each session. Once your balance is above £10, you can withdraw to your bank account.
To get started, add your bank account in Account → My bank accounts. And when you've earned enough, tap Withdraw and your cash is on its way — most payments land in your account straight away.
One thing to note — Boost sessions, solar charging and basic charging don't earn rewards. Smart charging is where the magic happens.
Installation
6Non-standard charger installations may incur an additional cost, such as groundworks. Once your order is placed, we'll be in touch to better understand your requirements and produce a no-obligation quote for any additional works. If you decide not to proceed, you’ll receive a full refund. You can read the full terms and conditions here.
Many EV charging providers will require you to have dedicated off-street parking so that your home charger can be installed in a safe and accessible location.
You’ll need to check that your preferred EV charger installation location is close enough to where you actually park your electric vehicle. This is because there are different electric car charging cable lengths (we recommend a compromise between ease of use and ease of storage). You may also need to consider where the charging socket is located on your EV.
Another consideration is the distance between your home’s power supply and the desired location of the home charger, as providers may have different limits for their home EV charger installations.
If your property requires work outside the scope of our standard installation (e.g., more than 15m of cable), we will provide a transparent, no-obligation quote for the extra costs. If you decide not to proceed with the additional work, we guarantee a full refund of any initial payment or deposit.
For full details on our standard installation terms and our home charger terms of sale, visit our home charger terms of sale page.
A standard installation can be completed in as little as 2 hours. For non-standard installation, our team will advise you on what to expect.
For more information please see our How to Prepare for Home EV Charger Installation guide.
Our standard installation covers the majority of UK homes. It includes fitting your Pod Point charger to a suitable wall or structure, up to 15 metres of cable neatly routed from your electricity supply to the charger, all electrical connections and protections, and additional adequately sized consumer unit, if needed.
You'll need to be home for the duration, and we'll send you a pre-installation survey beforehand to make sure everything runs smoothly on the day.
To find out more visit our installation page.

Charging
3Pod supplies Velocity+ rapid chargers that can charge two cars simultaneously by either CCS or CHAdeMO charging connector.
The VM75+ can charge one vehicle at 75kW, and if two are connected the first car will receive 50kW and the second 25kW,
until the car no longer requests >25kW, and then the power ratings will switch if necessary. The VM50+ can charge a single car
up to 50kW, or two cars at 25kW each.
No, we currently have no minimum spend to charge on our rapid chargers.
But you must have at least £5 credit on your account to claim and start a charge.
All electric cars that use the Mode 3 charging protocol can use the Solo 3. This means virtually all mainstream electric cars and vans, from Teslas to Renault vans and all sorts in between.
The only electric vehicles it won't charge are more niche vehicles (such as milk floats and forklifts) that use bespoke connectors or standard electrical outlets.
Home Fleet
10Charging time depends on vehicle battery size and starting charge level, but typically under 8 hours is sufficient to deliver a full or substantial recharge ready for the working day.
Alternative workplace or public charging solutions may be required.
Yes. Public charging can be supported, with reimbursement managed through Rightcharge where a public charge card is provided.
Drivers can be added or removed through the Pod Management System. Once a driver is removed, the business is no longer responsible for their charging costs under the scheme.

The Pod Point App ensures you can make the most of your Solo home charger, such as Charge Scheduling and Solar and Grid modes.
However, if you simply wish to plug in and charge, you don't need to link your charger to the Pod Point App. Instead, it will charge whenever you plug in.
Your pricing model can be as simple or complex as you wish. For example, you can integrate flexible pricing based on usage (e.g. 35p per kWh used).
Alternatively, you can make the first hour of charging free, then £2/hour for the next 4 hours, then £5/hour thereafter to encourage your drivers to vacate the parking space.
Only a qualified and competent electrician who has passed the relevant qualifications can install an EV charger. They should hold a qualification for chargepoint installation (City & Guilds 2921) and be registered with the Competent Person Scheme. You’ll find that many EV charger providers offer installation as part of the purchase. If you prefer to organise your EV charger installation yourself, you can find OZEV-approved EV charger installers via the OZEV website.
If you’re looking to use the OZEV chargepoint grant scheme to reduce the cost of your EV charger installation in rented accommodation or a flat you own, you must use one of the installers authorised as part of the scheme.

You won’t need permission to install an EV charger if you live in a house you own and have private parking. If you rent your home or own a flat, you’ll have to seek permission from your landlord or property manager before arranging an installation.
While you have to seek out permission, there’s some good news. Renters and flat owners may be eligible for the OZEV grant, which can lower the cost of getting an EV charger by up to £500. Find out more about the grant scheme and see the full list of eligibility criteria.
EV Zones are highlighted on our app through stand-out icons. We are currently working to provide the same experience through third-party apps.
The Twin Charger is compatible with all electric cars that use the Mode 3 charging protocol. This means virtually all mainstream electric cars and vans, from Teslas to Renault vans and all sorts in between.
The only electric vehicles it won't charge are more niche vehicles that use only bespoke connectors or standard electrical outlets.
Points are earned against qualifying Pod Point Solo 3S products (both tethered and untethered models) and updated weekly. Solo Pro and Twin chargers are currently exempt from Pod Pros. Please take a look at our T&Cs for further information. If you have any questions about your points, please contact Pod Pros on hello@pod-pros.co.uk.

Yes. Our Pod Point Solo 3S chargers come with solar integration, meaning you can charge your vehicle with solar power or a mixture of solar and grid energy. Simply activate solar through the Pod Home app and set your preferences, using the in-app functions below:
Charge with solar only - allows you to charge purely using excess solar energy - ideal for very sunny days where lot of solar energy is generated. Charging only starts when 1.4kW of solar power is available.
Top up solar from the grid - allows you to use excess solar energy, topped up with energy from the National Grid - ideal for cloudier days when you have excess solar energy you want to use up but you need some energy from the grid (EVs require a minimum of 1.4kW to begin charging).
Any EV charging completed using electricity from solar will not earn cash for Pod Rewards.
Once your charger has been installed, simply head to the Pod Point App. From the "At Home" tab, you’ll be able to connect your charger and follow the instructions to set up Wi-Fi.
Note: If you are struggling to locate your connection sticker, please visit the App User Guides or contact Pod Point customer support, available 24/7 on 020 7247 4114.
Our digital publishing platform enables us to customise media campaigns for every client’s needs. A simple campaign could consist of one static poster playing 24/7 across all screens, while a complex campaign could broadcast diverse playlists of video clips on different screens around the country.
It can’t be connected to a 3-pin plug socket; the Pod Point charger needs to be connected to the main electrical supply so it can charge at a rate of up to 7.4kW. One of our experts will give you guidance on how and where the charger will be connected.
You can read more on 3-pin plug sockets vs dedicated home chargers here.
All EV chargepoints will deliver the maximum rate of charge available at all times based on the current load on that phase at any given time.
Typically, all cars will charge at 7kW and our Array Charging system will only reduce charging speed when necessary.
Once vehicles are unplugged or their batteries are full, the rate of charge will then increase for the remaining vehicles, in line with the now spare capacity.
Business owners of Twin Chargers can set several options regarding visibility, accessibility and payment for the chargepoints using our Site Management Service .
They can be displayed on public mapping, or hidden for private use. Access can be completely free and "plug-and-play", or require the charge event to be confirmed by the driver in the Pod Point App. Business owners also have the ability to set whatever fee they see fit, with payment via the app interface.

Our digital publishing platform records the number of times a media asset has been played and which screens it has been played on. Reports can then be created to show media stats against your venue’s footfall numbers to calculate impressions generated.
All cars will receive a charge at all times no matter how many are plugged in on the Array Charging system. This is not a first come, first served system and even at peak times, electricity will be delivered to all cars but at a lower charge rate.
Twin Chargers can operate on the host's Wi-Fi, or have a GSM modem provided which allows them to use mobile phone networks.
Wi-Fi is generally a more reliable connection, but GSM is often more appropriate for external locations. Twin Chargers also have fail-safes in case of comms failure, that ensures drivers' cars continue to charge.
Solo 3 chargers can be set to show public access and payment tariffs through our Site Management Service.
They can be displayed on public mapping, or hidden for private use. Access can be completely free and "plug-and-play", or require the charge event to be confirmed by the driver in the Pod Point App. Business owners have the ability to set whatever fee they see fit, with payment via the app interface.
We can offer options to ensure you can continue with your Pod Drive subscription seamlessly. Just call our support team when you know you're moving date, and they will discuss your options.
Yes, Pod Point chargers are compatible with Octopus electricity tariffs. However, smart EV tariffs such as Intelligent Octopus Go are not compatible with our subscription and customers who choose to pay upfront will not be able to access Pod Rewards while on a smart tariff.
Yes, you can withdraw your remaining balance from the Pod Point App by getting in touch with the Pod Point customer support team.
You can contact us either through our Help Centre or on 020 7247 4114.
We recommend installation within the front third of your carpark, to ensure sufficient footfall in the vicinity of the media charger thus generating a good number of media impressions. However chargers positioned immediately at your venue’s entrance have a higher propensity to be blocked by less considerate drivers of internal combustion engine vehicles, meaning there is a greater need for effective signage and enforcement. Pod Point can advise on the best location for your Media Charger.
What's the difference?
Tethered chargers have a cable permanently attached, so you’ll never have to think about where your cable is. You can simply park up and plug in. An untethered charger has a socket for you or your visitors to plug a separate cable into.
What's best for me?
As the tethered charger has a cable attached, there's no need to rummage around in your car or garage to find it, which is ideal if you lead a busy lifestyle.
If you already have your own charging cable, you might prefer an untethered charger as it's more cost-effective.
For more details please see our product page.
Yes, the Array Charging load management system can be rated at 40A, 60A, 80A or 100A TPN or 100A SPN if you only have a single phase supply.
This does mean that there are a reduced amount of EV chargepoints which can be load managed but the total number will still be more than if load management was not used.
No. Rapid charging is generally considered from 43kW AC or 50kW up to 150kW (or even 350kW) DC. These require far heavier duty switch gears and connections.
The Twin Chargers can charge at 22kW if three-phase power is available. However, the vast majority are 7kW meaning they are suited for locations where cars are normally parked for periods of 45 minutes or more.
Cost to charge will vary by location, like all of our chargers on the Pod Point Network. For the latest pricing please check the Pod Point App or our Charge Map.
Viewing your rapid charging activity and cost history in the Pod Point App cannot be done when you pay via contactless payment - only when you pay for charging using the Pod Point App.
After you have claimed a charge via the Pod Point App you will receive a notice that tells you how many kWh your vehicle will charge based on the credit left in your account.
The Solo 3S can operate on the host's Wi-Fi, or have a GSM modem provided which allows them to use mobile phone networks.
Wi-Fi is generally a more reliable connection, but GSM is often more appropriate for outdoor locations. Solo 3S also have fail-safes in case of comms failure to ensure that drivers' cars continue to charge.
You reserve the right to cancel your agreement with us within 14 days of signing it (the cooling off period). Outside of that, please refer to your agreement terms or give us a call on 0207 247 4114.
If you don't have a driveway, you can still have an EV by making use of our extensive UK network of public and workplace chargers. There are also options available with our partners such as Kerbocharge who make owning an EV charger with on-street parking easier than ever.
If you live in a flat and need some help convincing your property manager or landlord to install electric vehicle charging in your apartment, use our letter template to kickstart the conversation.
- Check that your car is connected in your car manufacturers app.
- Make sure you are using the same login details on the Pod Point App, as you are on your car manufacturers app.
- Check our list of supported cars here.
As the screen displays illuminated media/adverts it is regulated under the Government’s ‘Advertising Control System’.
Depending on your property type there are a number of conditions for display that can allow installation without the planning authority’s specific consent.
Further detail is available in the UK government's "Outdoor advertisements and signs: a guide for advertisers" document. You can also speak to our specialist team to discuss your requirements and receive guidance.
22kW or any three phase units cannot be load managed on our Array Charging system. The system has been designed to make the most out of a limited power supply and is designed around 7kW EV chargepoints.
Instructions on how to rapid charge will differ depending on the charger you are using, they will also differ from our standard network instructions. You can find instructions on how to charge in 3 different ways:
- Charging instructions can be located towards the middle of this page (see above) underneath each respective rapid charger.
- In-app charging instructions can be found by selecting your rapid charging location in-app and then tapping on "How to use this charger"
- Charging instructions are displayed on the front of all of our rapid chargers.
No. Rapid charging is generally considered from 43kW AC or 50kW up to 150kW (or even 350kW) DC. These require far heavier duty switch gears and connections.
The Solo 3 can charge at 22kW if three-phase power is available. However, the vast majority are 7kW meaning they are suited for locations where cars are normally parked for periods of 45 minutes or more.
Your Pod Point charger will work without Wi-Fi, but you'd be missing out on some great features.
With a stable Wi-Fi connection, you can smart charge and earn cash with Pod Rewards, lock your charger remotely, get insights into your charging activity, manage solar charging, and keep your charger up to date with automatic software updates — all through the Pod Home app.
If you're on a subscription, keeping your charger connected to Wi-Fi is a requirement of the service.
So while charging is still possible without it, a Wi-Fi connection is what unlocks the full experience.
EV Zones are powered by our Array Charging solution which allows hosts to install 3x more chargepoints on the same electrical power supply without the need to upgrade. Combining this with intelligent design prior to the build stage can mean provision of suitable ducting that minimises future disruption.
As more EVs with bigger batteries and faster-charging capabilities become available, access to rapid chargers will be vital to meet the needs of drivers undertaking longer journeys. We therefore believe Velocity+ chargers are best suited to en-route highway charging and shorter stay (20-80 mins) destinations.
No, the firmware inside our Array Charging boxes has been created so that it doesn't need an outside connection; it is standalone and communicates with the EV chargepoints via a signal cable. However, the chargers will require a connection to enable smart reporting, billing and Over-the-Air updates.
Whilst Pod Point doesn't impose overstay fees, we advise all drivers to vacate any charging area after they have finished charging to make space available for other drivers. Please always check any location-specific guidelines before you travel to charge - as these may vary.
After your chargers are installed and have appropriate connectivity, the Pod Point team will send you an email to get started with the Site Management Service. In the meantime you can find out more about it at https://sites.pod-point.com/help
The concept of an EV Zone is to always ensure that customers have bays that are available to charge. We therefore recommend a minimum of 6 active bays with relevant signage. But of course, we always encourage hosts to consider options for future expansion.
We offer Rapid and High-powered rapid chargers that deliver 50kW, 75kW, however, each car has its own maximum charge speed - e.g. plug a BMW i3 into a 350kW CCS unit and it will charge at a maximum of 50kW.
Each car charges in a slightly different time, but as a rule of thumb expect a 20-80% charge in approximately 30 minutes when a car's max charge rate is the same as the Velocity+ Charger's maximum.
The Pod Point App ensures you can make the most of your Solo home charger, such as Charge Scheduling and Solar and Grid modes.
However, if you simply wish to plug in and charge, you don't need to link your charger to the Pod Point App. Instead, it will charge whenever you plug in.
Firstly, all Pod Point commissioning should be completed via the Pod Installer app in order for the Pod Point charger to function correctly for your customer. We can only allocate Pod Pros points to installations completed via the Installer app. You should use the same email address you used for your Pod Installer app account for your Pod Pros account in order for your points to be added seamlessly.
Not to worry, this is our standard pre-authorisation amount (This may vary, up to £30) that is temporarily held (not withdrawn) if you're paying via contactless debit or credit card payment.
Once your charging session has been completed, this amount is taken off hold and you will only be charged for the energy consumed during your charging session.
No, Site Management Service is a web portal that can be easily accessed via most web browsers on your computer, tablet or phone. It is, however, mandatory for our chargers to have a stable internet/data connection.
Yes. There is no limit to the number of cars you can add.
Just basic site details — parking layout, number of chargers required, and contact information. For complex sites, Pod may arrange a survey (refundable against installation).
Pod is backed by EDF and has installed over 35,000 commercial chargers, offering reliable hardware, smart site management tools and 24/7 remote support — all built to scale as the business grows.
Yes — Pod offers load‑balancing systems (Array and Mini Array) that maximise the number of chargers on limited supply, helping sites avoid costly upgrades.

Yes. When you buy a Pod Point charger, standard installation and delivery are included in the price. There's nothing extra to pay for a standard install.
Standard installation covers most UK homes, including:
- Fitting your Pod Point charger to a brick or plaster wall, or another suitable permanent structure
- Up to 15 metres of cable, neatly run and clipped between your meter or distribution board and the charger
- Routing the cable through a wall up to 500mm thick, if needed
- Fitting and testing all the electrical connections and protections your charger needs
- An extra three-way consumer unit, if required
- Up to 3 metres of plastic conduit to keep interior wiring tidy
Some homes need a bit more work than a standard install allows, for example trenching cable underground, running it above ground, or upgrading older wiring to meet current standards. If that applies to you, we'll always give you a no-obligation quote before any extra work goes ahead, so there are no surprises. Our pre-installation survey in the Pod Home app is designed to flag most of these things in advance.
You can charge your electric car at home as often as you need to. It can be treated the same as charging a mobile phone, fully charging overnight and topping up in the day if necessary.
While it is not necessary for most to charge every day, many drivers plug in each time they leave their car out of habit, giving them maximum flexibility should they have to make an unexpected journey.
- By charging overnight, electric car drivers can take advantage of cheap nighttime electricity rates and drive for as little as 2p per mile.
- Overnight charging also ensures that the car’s battery is full each morning for the day ahead. You don’t need to unplug once the battery is full, charging will stop automatically with a dedicated home charger.
- Most drivers also make use of charging facilities at their workplace or public destinations to top up charge.
Electric car charging points need to be professionally installed. A certified charging provider will include installation cost in the price of the unit.
- The home installation involves wall mounting the chargepoint on an exterior wall or garage, near to where you park and connecting it safely to the mains electricity supply.
- An installation should take around three hours to complete, depending on the individual requirements of the driver and the complexity of the installation.
- Installations can be booked directly online, over the phone or through car dealerships, with most providers happy to provide free advice and talk through the options available.
Off-street parking means you have private and exclusive access to a driveway, garage, or residential car park at your property. If that's you, you can install your charger at home without needing a cross-pavement solution.
On-street parking means you don't have that private access and park on a public road near your home instead.
There are two government grants that can help with the cost of home EV charging if you don't have access to off-street parking.
The first is a council-level grant that subsidises the cost of installing the Kerbo Charge channel itself. Your council applies for this, not you, and 80% of UK councils have already signed up. It's one of the reasons Kerbo Charge installation costs vary by area, and why many customers pay less than the standard price.
The second is the EV Chargepoint Grant for households with on-street parking, which takes up to £500 off the cost of buying and installing your Pod Point charger. To qualify, you need to be installing a cross-pavement solution like Kerbo Charge at the same time. Your installer handles the claim on your behalf, so the saving is deducted straight from your bill.
If you're eligible for both, you could make a significant saving across the whole setup.
Both options include your Pod Point charger, Which? endorsed installation, Pod Rewards and access to Pod Power by EDF tariff. The difference is in how you pay and what's included.
Pay upfront is a one-off payment from £999 and comes with a 3-year warranty on both charger and installation.
Subscribe is £99 upfront and £34/month for 36 months. As well as your charger and installation, you’ll get 2 extra years warranty (5 in total) and our 48-hour Repair, Replace, Recharge service, so if something goes wrong we'll have a solution within 48 hours.
Whichever you choose, you'll be smart charging and earning cash with Pod Rewards from the start.
Popular questions
Non-standard charger installations may incur an additional cost, such as groundworks. Once your order is placed, we'll be in touch to better understand your requirements and produce a no-obligation quote for any additional works. If you decide not to proceed, you’ll receive a full refund. You can read the full terms and conditions here.
Pod Power by EDF is an exclusive EV tariff available to Pod customers. It's designed to work alongside your Pod Point charger and Pod Rewards, so you can smart charge at home on a low off-peak rate and save on your charging costs.
The tariff covers your whole home, not just your EV charging. EDF are the energy supplier, and you'll sign up directly with them once your charger is ordered.
