Pod launches Pod Power by EDF, a 7-hour off-peak EV tariff
Pod’s new EV tariff offers 7 hours of low-cost electricity every night to make home charging simpler and more affordable
Pod has partnered with EDF to launch Pod Power by EDF, an exclusive new EV tariff designed specifically for Pod customers to make home charging simpler and more cost-effective. The tariff delivers 7 hours of low-cost, off-peak electricity every night between 11pm and 6am, giving EV drivers predictable charging costs and meaningful savings.
Available to both new and existing Pod customers, Pod Power is EDF’s cheapest EV tariff, fixed for 12 months and designed to integrate seamlessly with Pod’s charging solutions - including Pod Rewards, which offers up to £100 back each year for smart charging at home.
Pod Power by EDF has been created in direct response to customer insights showing that EV drivers want clarity, trust and simplicity with transparent pricing, no hidden catches, and a clear sense of the value they’re getting from their energy tariff.
The Pod Power by EDF tariff includes an off-peak rate of 6.49p per kWh, available for 7 hours every night, from 11pm - 6am, which applies to the whole home and not just EV charging. This gives households a longer, more practical window to run appliances and charge their vehicle without needing to actively manage usage.
EDF recently extended all its EV tariffs beyond the typical five-hour off-peak period, helping its customers with longer periods of predictable costs at a time of global instability in the energy markets.
By charging off-peak with the Pod Power tariff, typical Pod customers can save over £450 per year1 against charging on a Standard Variable Tariff aligned with the Ofgem price cap.
When paired with Pod Rewards, customers can earn up to an extra £100 per year simply for plugging in their EV and letting Pod charge at the most optimal times, adding further value on top of the core tariff savings, and supporting smarter use of the UK grid by shifting demand.
This integrated tariff and rewards proposition is designed to help Pod customers reduce their EV charging costs while supporting a more flexible and resilient energy system.
