We’ll supply and install electric vehicle home chargers at every parking space in new McCarthy Stone developments.
With one in four of the UK population expected to be over 65 by 2037, according to the ONS, the later living sector is flourishing. To meet anticipated demand, McCarthy Stone is expanding its retirement communities with future plans to build 60 new developments a year.
Our partnership follows on from updates to building regulations mandating EV charging points in all new-build properties in England. The regulations came into force in June this year and form part of the government's strategy to reduce emissions. All new residential developments must have one 7kW charge point for every residence with a parking space.

Recent research conducted by McCarthy Stone suggests that people aged 65 or over are embracing the switch to EVs by prioritising electric car charging points when buying a new home. Over 4 in 10 of the over 65s look for an EV charging point when considering a move to a new property.
