EDF and Pod Point partner to provide an exclusive new EV energy tariff

During a time of economic uncertainty and cost pressure, we’re helping drivers make the switch to EV by partnering with EDF - Britain's largest generator of zero-carbon electricity - and offering a new EV energy tariff exclusive to new Solo 3 customers.

Introducing the Pod Point EV Exclusive tariff
The tariff offers a fixed low rate for one year, letting EV owners drive for less than 2.5p per mile*.
It's available to all new Pod Point home customers when they sign up to use EDF for their energy, giving them:
- Overnight charging rate of just 8.49p per kWh between 00:00 and 05:00 am, fixed for 1 year*
- Zero-carbon renewable electricity provided by EDF*

Pod Point CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, said: “We know consumers are most likely to charge their cars overnight at home, making sure that - just like the mobile phone on their bedside table - it is ready to go when they need it, whether that’s for the school run or the morning commute.”

Tariff requirements
You can sign up for the Pod Point EV Exclusive tariff from the 24th of October.
You’ll be eligible for the tariff if you ordered your Solo 3 home charger after the 18th of October.
You’ll also need a smart meter installed and you can book this via EDF if you haven’t already. For full eligibility criteria please visit https://www.edfenergy.com/eligibility
To maximise the benefits from this tariff, pair your Pod Point home charger with the Pod Point App. By doing so, you’ll be able to use the Charge Scheduling feature to schedule your charging to take place overnight when the cheaper rate kicks in.
