EDF completes acquisition of Pod
EDF has completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of Pod Point Group Holdings PLC

EDF, through its British subsidiary EDF Energy Customers Ltd, has successfully completed the acquisition of all outstanding shares of Pod Point Group Holdings PLC, the London-based electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions provider.
This follows the Pod Board’s recommendation of the buyout offer from EDF in June, at which time EDF held a 53% stake in the business.
As a result, Pod has been delisted from the London Stock Exchange, effective from 4th August 2025, marking the completion of the transition to a privately held company.
This acquisition reaffirms EDF’s commitment to strengthening Britain’s energy security by accelerating electrification and helping its customers save cash and carbon.

Pod recently launched its industry-first ‘Pod Drive’ subscription offer, which cuts the upfront cost of a Solo 3S home EV charging system by over £1,000* whilst also providing cashback on up to 7,500 ‘smart charged’ miles per year and a 48-hour service level agreement, giving subscribers total peace of mind. Pod’s new home as part of EDF will strengthen its ability to develop and roll out Pod Drive to new and existing EV drivers.
EDF is one of the largest suppliers of EV tariffs, with its cheapest EV tariff ‘Go Electric’ saving customers £316 each year compared to standard rates. It recently introduced a smart charging add-on, saving customers a further £239 a year. All EDF’s EV tariffs are backed by the zero-carbon electricity EDF generates itself.
*With Pod Drive customers pay £99 upfront and get a 7kW Solo 3S tethered unit (£1,149) as well as a surge protection device included (additional £100 cost to add this upfront).
