From the humble Nissan LEAF, arguably the first mass-market electric car, to the present day, drivers now have an almost overwhelming number of options when it comes to choosing the electric vehicle for their needs.
But the ways to charge them have also continued to evolve, with charging at home widely regarded as the best way to keep an EV charged. That means drivers are constantly on the lookout for a reputable and trusted brand that offers a reliable, convenient, and easy-to-use charging system.

Why are so many drivers switching to EVs?
Since the beginning of the modern electric car industry, we knew there were many compelling reasons as to why drivers would ditch fossil fuels in favour of electric cars:
1. They’re more convenient to ‘fuel’
Unlike petrol and diesel cars, EVs can be topped up at home overnight, making them significantly more convenient. With a dedicated home charging system, people no longer need to drive somewhere to refill (spending fuel in the process); instead, their car can charge overnight whilst it’s parked, meaning they’ll always wake up to a fully charged car every morning – something non-EV drivers can only dream of!
Plus, charging is so much simpler than fuelling a petrol or diesel car. Instead of having to drive to a petrol station and hold the pump whilst it fuels the car, EV charging is simply a matter of plugging the car in. After that, you can walk away and go do something more productive like shop, work, or sleep – none of which you can do at the same time as fuelling a petrol or diesel car.
2. They’re cheaper to run
One of the huge and underrated benefits of EVs is their drive trains. Being so much simpler than cars with internal combustion engines, they require less maintenance as there are fewer moving parts that wear down and need replacing. This in turn makes their maintenance costs much cheaper.
The other benefit to driving an EV is you can take advantage of dual-rate energy tariffs, especially ones designed for electric car drivers. These typically offer a cheaper electricity rate overnight because that’s when demand is lowest. So by plugging in and charging overnight, EV drivers can make their charging even cheaper!
