Velocity charging instructions
The charging instructions vary depending on whether you start your session directly or via the Pod Point app.
Contactless payment
1. Check the touchscreen
Check the status of the charging cable via the touchscreen and press the corresponding button. Rapid chargers require you to have a minimum of £5 in your account balance to start a charge.
2. Connect your vehicle to the charger
Plug in your vehicle. Please note that the CCS and CHAdeMO cables cannot charge simultaneously. The display panel will confirm when the plug is connected successfully.
3. Close car doors
Some makes and models of cars will not charge if the car doors are open. Please close the doors and lock the car to ensure charging starts.
4. Start and confirm your charging session
Tap your bank card over the payment terminal on the charger. A specified amount will be temporarily held and updated once you've finished your charging session.
5. Stopping a charging session
Press the 'Stop' button on the charger and remove the cable.
6. Payment confirmed
Your payment will be processed and the terminal screen will display how much you have been charged.
Pod Point app

4. Find your charger in-app
Use the charger details to find your charger in the Pod Point app. Confirm charge. The app will then notify you how many kWh of charge you will get based on your account balance.
5. Stopping a charging session
The charge will stop when your account balance hits £0. Alternatively, tap “Stop” in the Pod Point app to end the charge first, and then unplug your vehicle.
6. Payment confirmed
The payment will then be taken from your app credit.
