Pod Power by EDF – our claims explained
Customers can save over £450 on their EV charging with Pod Power by EDF by charging off-peak when compared to charging costs on a Standard Variable Tariff (SVT) aligned with the Ofgem price cap.
These savings assume the following details:
- EV charging energy usage: 2,543 kWh - This is based on driving ~8,900 miles per year* - the average annual mileage for a BEV owner in the UK.
- EV driving efficiency of 3.5miles/kWh.
- All EV charging occurs off-peak.
- Savings versus average SVT rates for April–June 2026**.
- Savings are for the Pod Power by EDF tariff only, and does not include cash earned from Pod Rewards
The calculations for the EV charging savings are below:
- Pod Power by EDF tariff (6.49p): (2,543 kWh)×6.49p = £165.03
- SVT costs (24.67p): (2,543 kWh)×24.67p = £627.11
- Savings on Pod Power by EDF = £462.08
